Solar Streetlight Project Report

Following the AGM decision on 10 September 2025 to explore the cost of replacing our current streetlight system with a solar-powered alternative, we appointed Oscar Rodriguez, an Industrial Electrical Engineer, to lead the project.

Oscar Rodriguez obtained four quotes from suppliers offering systems that meet Spanish street lighting standards for public roads. We met with all the suppliers listed to review their products and features.

In addition, Oscar Rodriguz, Saul Tormo Ivars (Seyma Electricidad SL), and I visited the Fonroche factory in Agen, France. There, we viewed a live simulation of the proposed system and saw solar streetlights in use, including in a residential estate similar to Pinosol.

Here is a link to a video of a simulation by Fonroche of their system in our streets https://youtu.be/HgOoCr8O27w

Any selected system must be approved by the Town Hall. Oscar Rodriguez will submit the project for approval and oversee the full installation process.

The quotes are as follows:

Financing

Using the lowest quote as an example the calculation will be as follows:
• Cost of Project 278.035€
• Reserve fund 130.000€ (approximately)
• Shortfall 158.035€

We have 151.5 shares for owners which would equal 1.044€ per share

This can be paid according to each owners choice of :-

• A one-off amount

• Instalments over the period it will take to obtain Town Hall permission, commission the work and negotiate a payment plan with the supplier. Could be 6-8 months or longer.

• By a loan from Caixa Bank – 50% of owners would need to agree to take a loan for their share. The interest is 4.30% and can be for a maximum of 8 years for up to 80% of the cost of the project.

The repayments would be collected by Arenal Administration monthly and paid to the bank.
