Noise Nuisance – Summer 2026
Dear Owner, I am writing to you at the start of the summer season as that is when most of our problems occur in relation to noise and other nuisances created by outsiders living in properties around us. May I remind every owner that load noise or music outside is not permitted at all and especially after 12 midnight and until 8am the next day. Between 3pm and 5pm is the designated siesta time and any noise is also especially not permitted during those hours as we are a quiet residential area and have all agreed we would all like to keep it that way. Purpose and Scope of Regulation Noise generated in public spaces, areas of public coexistence, or within buildings must be kept within the limits required to ensure peaceful community living. In this regard, the following are considered capable of disturbing public coexistence: Article 57. Noise Generated by Individuals Article 58. Sound Reproduction Equipment Article 59. Public Festivities, Musical Performances and Vehicle Sound Systems Article 60. Penalties The conduct described in the preceding articles constitutes a minor offence and may be punished by a fine of up to €750.
